Play Blackjack UK
The game of blackjack is hundreds of years old. It was one of the very first card games to be played in a casino and it continues to be played in every casino around the world. It’s also a game that forms the heart of our own online casino, with many different virtual games and live games available. The beauty of blackjack is that most variants use the same or similar rules and all of them are relatively easy to pickup and play. This game takes its name from an early bonus that was paid out to players who had both a black jack and an ace in their hand. The name stuck in the United States and it’s how the game has always been known. In Europe, however, it’s often referred to as “21”, which is the score needed to get an instant win, or even as “Pontoon” in the United Kingdom, although Pontoon is actually a very slightly different variant with different rules and terminology.
Learning Blackjack Rules
Blackjack is game that takes moments to learn and a lifetime to master, one that anyone can play without much preparation, but that can be taken to a new level with a bit of practice. That’s why its popularity has endured and why it is a mainstay everywhere from casino floors to high-stake card rooms. The main idea behind blackjack is simple: the player needs to try and outscore the dealer, and they do this by getting as close to 21 as possible. Some blackjack rules are dependant on the individual game, especially if that game features a unique twist (such as exposing extra cards or allowing for multi-hand play) but the main rules are standard across all games. These include options such as Double Down, where players are given one more card in exchange for doubling their bet, and Split, where allows them to “split” a pair of cards and to make two hands from one.
Some games will also allow them to take Insurance, which pays-out if the dealer gets a blackjack, or to Double after a Split. There are also side bets to make things even more interesting, including Perfect Pairs, which rewards players when the cards in their hand pair-up.
