BET TYPES

Single

A bet on the result of a single event.

Earnings in a single bet are equal to the sum of the bet multiplied by the ratio of the gain. Simple or single bet is the simplest form of gambling: an event and its forecast.

Combination

The combination bet is one of the most used bet types. Here the Player combines several bets into one. The total fee is derived by multiplying the odds of the different bets. To win the bet you must hit all the results. Example: Juventus Turin – AS Roma: Home team to win (1), Tottenham Hotspur – Chelsea FC: Both teams to score (YES), Real Madrid – Getafe CF: Over/Under (over 2.5) – Total Fee: 1.76 x 1.8 x 1.95 x stake (£1) = £6.18.

As soon as you make more than one prediction of different sporting events (e.g. two different football games), you have the potential to generate a combination bet. The total quota is obtained by multiplying the odds of all individual forecasts. Please note that you will only get the gain of a combination bet if you hit all the predictions made.

Types of Accumulation Bets

The vast majority of bets can be combined. Only some of them, such as certain Formula 1 bets, lack this ability and can only be closed as simple. The decision whether a prediction can be combined with other is taken by the bookie and depends inter alia on the relevant party or event. You will be told if this is so later in the time of closing the bet. Important note: bets belonging to the same event cannot play as often or as combined betting system.

System bet

As opposed to single bets or combination bets that are either simply won or lost as a whole, each individual bet within the system bet is treated separately, so one system bet could eventually contain a mix of winning and losing bets. For system bets, sometimes the player can win less than the stake, and sometimes quite a bit more.

The key difference between a system bet and multi-leg (accumulator) bet is that you can win a system bet even if not all of your picks are correct whereas an acca fails if one leg is lost. For example, a 2/3 system bet will be successful if you lose one of the legs.

Banker bet

Banker bet is a part of a system bet (like an accumulator, for example) that must succeed, otherwise the entire wager fails. Because of the importance of the banker bet succeeding, the bettor will usually choose their banker bet to be the bet within a system that they feel has the highest probability of success.

NOTE: Banker bets are supported only on desktop and not on mobile!

Jackpot Bet

Jackpot bet will be shown and settled as regular bet, but placed on a fixed game where events are settled according to the result of the Fixture

RULES

If the outcome of a market cannot be verified officially, it will be our concern to void any market to delay the settlement until official confirmation.

If markets were offered when the outcome was already verified, it will be our concern to void any market.

In the case of any obviously incorrectly displayed or calculated prices, it will be our concern to void any market.

If coverage has to be abandoned and the match finishes regularly, all markets will be settled according to the final result. If the outcome of a market cannot be verified officially, it will be our concern to void any market.

In the case of an incorrect settlement of markets, it will be our concern to correct them anytime.

If a match does not adhere to the generally accepted format (e.g. unusual period length, counting procedure, format of a match etc.); it will be our concern to void any market.

If the rules or format of a match differ from our accepted norm, it will be our concern to void any market.

If a match is not completed or not played (e.g. through disqualification, interruption, withdrawal, changes in draws etc.), all not decided markets are considered void.

European handicap is basically a 3-way bet, similar to a 1X2 match result bet. That is why it is also found as “Handicap” or “3-way handicap” on all sports and similar sidebet like 1st half market will be settled according to these rules. In any match with a significant difference in strength between the two teams, a handicap is placed on the outsider, in order to make it harder for the favorite to win the bet or the reverse with favourite. So far the function is the same with Asian Handicap. Here is the significant difference: the European Handicap (abbreviated as EH) is always an integer number, meaning it can be matched with a goal difference. Instead of placing an Asian Handicap of -1,5 goals or -0,25 goals, the European handicap is always of a -1, -2, -3 etc. kind.

As in Asian Handicap the main target is to get rid of the draw result (with a non-integer handicap you can actually win or lose the bet), the European Handicap actually has a “draw” result. Which is not, of course, the actual draw of the game, but the “equalizing” of the specific handicap set by the online bookmaker.

A very important thing, on our feed we apply ALWAYS the HANDICAP value (-1),(-2),(+1),(+2) on HOME TEAM.

European handicap bets usually appear like this:

Team A (-2) – Draw (-2) – Team B (-2)

What does this mean? Let’s take a closer look:

  • Team A (-2): If you back this option, you win when the team in question wins by three goals or more.
  • Draw (-2): In this case, you win if the match favorite wins by exactly two goals.
  • Team B (-2): The last option favors the outsider of the match. Your bet will be considered a winning one if your backed team either wins the match, gets a draw, or even loses by one goal.

Player Props markets are available for AFL, EPL, English Championship, Bundesliga, La Liga, Italian Serie A, UEFA Champions League, Soccer World Cup, MLB, NBA, NFL and NRL leagues with these terms and conditions:

  1. All Player Markets include overtime for bet resulting. Penalty shootouts are not included.
  2. If any player selected for any bet type does not participate in game then all bets on that player shall be Voided.
  3. If the match starts but is abandoned or suspended at any time before the match reaches a natural end and the match does not resume within 48 hours, then all undecided bets on that player shall be Voided.
  4. All bets created prior to the venue change shall be Voided.
  5. Bets on players where match is marked as postponed or cancelled in game state before the scheduled start time shall be left with pending status and resulted if the game starts within 48 hours of the original (global game time) scheduled start time. If game does not start within 48 hours, bets shall be Voided.

If there is a Dead Heat, you will win part of your bet and lose part of your bet. A Dead Heat is calculated by dividing the stake proportionally between the number of winners in the event. So, in a two-way Dead Heat (2 winners) for example, your return will be half of what it could have been. Dead heat rules do not apply when the tie or draw is offered in the market. Effectively when you have a dead heat, one part of your bet is treated as a winner, and one part as a loser. If a three way dead-heat, one part (33.33%) would be a winner, and two parts (66.66%) would be losers.

Example with 3 winners:

  • Customer A backs Cristiano Ronaldo for £10 at 1.8 to be Top Serie A Scorer
  • Customer B backs Ciro Immobile for £20 at 3.0 to be Top Serie A Scorer
  • Customer C backs Didier Drogba for £5 at 5.0 to be Top Serie A Scorer

In a three way dead heat the following returns would be expected:

  • Customer A – (£10 / 3 = £3.33) * 1.8 = £6 return
  • Customer B – (£20 / 3 = £6.67) * 3.0 = £20 return
  • Customer C – (£5 / 3 = £1.67) * 5.0 = £8,3 return

1. Soccer

General

All match markets are based on the result at the end of the regular time. This includes any added injury or stoppage time but does not include extra time, time allocated for a penalty shootout or a golden goal.

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be taken into account. Decisions made after a significant event occurs, may result in confirmed bets being voided. Bets voided will be from the time of the significant event, until the time the final VAR decision was officially announced.

An exception is made when this rule relates to friendly matches. In such cases, all match markets are settled based on the actual result at the end of the game (excluding any extra time), irrespective of whether the full 90 minutes is played. This rule applies only to matches with regular playing time of two 45-minute halves.

Some Soccer matches may have different playing schedules. In that case the following will apply:

  • 90 minutes scheduled play (3 x 30 minutes). Full-time bets are still considered valid. Halftime bets are considered void.
  • 80 minutes scheduled play (2 x 40 minutes). All bets are still considered valid.

Should any match be played prior to the date or kick-off time denoted then bets will stand provided the wager is placed not later than the revised kick-off time.

All bets on a match abandoned before the completion of the regular time will be void unless the match is rearranged and played on the same date (local time) or stated otherwise in the rules, except for bets on any markets that have been unconditionally determined.

If the game does not take place as scheduled and is not played on the same date (local time) all bets are void. An exception is made if incorrect kick-off time is announced on our website.

If a match venue is changed then bets already placed will stand providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed match are reversed then bets based on the original listing will be void.

In the absence of an official source, or when significant conflicting evidence is present, bets will be settled based on our own statistics.

Booking markets

Yellow card counts as 1 card and red or yellow-red card as 2. The 2nd yellow for one player which leads to a yellow red card is not considered. As a consequence one player cannot cause more than 3 cards.

Settlement will be made according to all available evidence of cards shown during the regular 90 minutes play.

Cards shown after the match are not considered.

Cards for non-players (already substituted players, managers, players on bench) are not considered.

Extra Time

All bets are settled on the official statistics for the extra time period only. Any goals, corners, etc. that were taken or scored during the regulation time do not count. Extra time does not include a Penalty shootout.

If the match does not go to an Extra Time [ET] all bets are void.

Corner Markets

Corners awarded but not taken doesn’t count.

Market will be settled based on TV insert and Official statistics provided from official Leagues.

2. Horse Racing

General

Bets on Racing are automatically settled on the double result basis unless otherwise stated or as detailed in the double result section below.

Ante-post bets (including Non Runner No Bet) are settled at the price and place terms applicable at the time of acceptance. The advertised times of races, the runners, returns and results as published in the Racing Post (or the national press) will govern settlement of all bets, excepting errors and omissions. Should a wrong price or place term be given in error we reserve the right to settle the bet according to the correct price/place terms available at the time of the bet.

When a result is amended after the official result (i.e. the weigh-in), for example as a result of a successful appeal, the amendment will be ignored for settlement purposes. We cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions in respect of accuracy in publishing or issuing of prices or information, despite every effort being made to ensure total accuracy. We reserve the right to correct these errors.

Double Result Concession

Double Result means if your horse finishes ‘First Past The Post’ you get paid as a winner, however, should your horse be awarded the race or promoted to a place, as a result of a Stewards’ Inquiry or Objection which is announced before the ‘Weigh In’, we will also pay you.

All bets placed on UK and Irish horse racing will be settled on First Past the Post AND the official result (i.e. the Weighed In result). The rules will be applied so that the settlement is always in the favour of the customer.

  • First Past the Post: The immediate result after the race has been completed (see Exceptions below).
  • Official Result: Announced at the ‘Weigh In’ on the day, after any Stewards’ Inquiries and/or Objections have been considered. If a winner or a placed horse is disqualified/demoted after the official result is announced, the disqualification/demotion will not affect the settlement of bets.

The Double Result concession applies on all selections and bets that are not mentioned in the Exceptions section.

There is no restriction on stakes that are applicable for the Double Result concession, but payouts are subject to our advertised Maximum Payout Limits as normal.

Exceptions

The exceptions where ‘First Past the Post’ settlement is not applicable, and bets will only be settled according to the official result are as follows:

  • Any race that is held outside the UK and Ireland.
  • Any UK/Irish race that does not have an industry SP returned
  • All bets placed on SP odds and bets on the First and Second Favourites.
  • All selections that are placed under Ante-Post rules (including Non Runner No Bet).
  • All selections from any market other than Racecard (e.g. Forecast/Tricast, Betting Without Favourite(s), Place Only, Match Betting and any other extra/special markets that are offered).
  • All selections that are placed on horses finishing in places relevant under enhanced EW terms offers only.
  • A selection taking the wrong course.
  • A selection carrying the wrong weight or the jockey failing to weigh-in.
  • Aintree Grand National race.
  • A selection given as the winner in error by the judge.

Each-way

Bets are acceptable win or each way. Using the each way checkbox will double the unit stake placed on the winner selection.

It will contain one bet on the Winner and another bet on the Place, Terms will be written at the header of the event eg. E/W 1/4 1-2-3

For horse racing, the each way bets will be determined according to the number of runners and the table:

Number of Runners

Race

1-4

Win Only

5-7

Odds 1/4, for 1 to 2 Places

8-11

Odds 1/5, for 1 to 3 Places

12-15

16+ Odds 1/4, for 1 to 4 Places

Number of runners coming under starters orders will be the number which will determine the each way terms for non-ante post races.

If non-runners take the race to less than five runners the place money goes on to win.

Some races can have enhanced odds or places and we keep the right to offer different odds and places.

Dead Heats

When a dead heat occurs for first place, the stake money on the winning selection will be divided by the number of winners, with full odds paid at the reduced stake. The remainder of the stake is lost. Where an each-way bet involves a dead heat winner, the win part of the bet will be settled as above, and the place part will be settled in full, in accordance with the relevant place terms. Should the dead heat involve placed selections and results in more than the allocated number of places, then the stakes will be divided as before, and settled to the full place terms.

Ante Post

Ante post events will be available in advance to customers, more than 48 hours before the race. Bets on non-runner horses in ante post events will be considered lost, unless otherwise stated.

Ante post events may be suspended on days when races related to the event occur.

Ante post bets will be settled according to the price and place terms at the time the bet has been placed.

We reserve the right to cancel wagers on ante post prices/places which have been presented due to typing or human errors.

Postponed Races

If a race is postponed and final declarations stand, then the bets will stand. Bets will be void if:

  • The race is declared void
  • The race is abandoned
  • The condition of the race has changed
  • The venue has changed
  • The surface has changed

Rule 4 Deduction

Rule 4 deduction will apply according to the following table:

Price of non-runner at time of withdrawal Amount deducted from winnings
1/9 or shorter 1.11 or shorter 90p in the £
2/11 to 2/17 1.18 to 1.12 85p in the £

6/1 to 9/1 7.00 to 10.00 10p in the £
10/1 to 14/1 11.00 to 15.00 5p in the £
Over 14/1 Over 15.00 No deduction

In the case of a non-runner, the deduction will apply according to the non-runner odds right before the withdrawal.

R4 will apply on ‘Day of event race’, less than 48 hours before the race.

If 2 or more horses are withdrawn, the total deduction will not exceed 90p.

Rule 4 deductions will apply to all winning bets placed before the non-runner was declared.

  • Example: prices available at 9:00 am.
    • 1st non-runner declared: 10:00 am.
    • Bookmaker applies Rule 4 at 10:05 am.
    • Winning bets on fixed odds between 9:00 am to 10:05 am will be deducted according to the non-runner’s last odds.
    • 2nd non-runner declared: 11:30 am.
    • Bookmaker applies 2nd Rule 4 at 11:35 am.
    • Winning bets on fixed odds between 10:06 am to 11:35 am: 2nd rule 4 will apply.
    • Winning bets on fixed odds between 9:00 am to 10:05 am: 2nd rule 4 will apply but the sum of the deduction will not exceed 90p.

If a horse comes under Starter’s Orders but refuses to race, the bet will be a loser. In all horse races where a runner is withdrawn, or adjudged not to have started – and therefore been declared a Non-Runner by the starter – stakes on that selection will be refunded (The exception to this being Ante Post bets). Bets on the remaining runners in that race, taken at Early Prices or at Board Prices prior to withdrawal, will be subject to a deduction.

Reserves

Some races contain reserves, who may or may not be priced in our early prices lists. The finishing position of any of these reserves will count regardless of whether they are priced or not.

If a reserve horse is offered with an early price and becomes a non-runner, the normal Rule 4 deduction will be applied to all bets struck prior to the non-runner as a result of the withdrawal.

Favourites

Bets on First and Second favourites are accepted win-only at starting price. Early prices or board prices cannot be taken on unnamed favourites.

The favourite is the horse quoted at the shortest odds in the official starting price.

The second favourite is the horse quoted at the next shortest price.

If two horses are quoted at the same odds and these odds are shorter than those quoted against any other, then these two are equal first favourite and equal second favourite.

If two or more co-favourites are selected, the stake will be divided equally between them and paid at full odds.

Betting Without

Predict the result of a given race excluding a Favourite horse. The finishing position of the Favourite horse will be ignored for bets placed on this market. For example, a bet placed on Cue Card without Don Cossack (favourite) will win if Cue Card wins the race or finishes second to Don Cossack. The bet will have lost in all other circumstances.

In markets where we offer ‘Betting Without’ a nominated selection, the place terms will be based on the remaining number of runners excluding the nominated selection.

Any each-way terms advertised are settled on the actual number of runners who take part in the race, excluding the ‘without’ selection.

Any rule 4 deductions will still apply and will be based on the price of the withdrawn runner in that market at the time of withdrawal.

Betting Without bets are settled ignoring the finishing position of the nominated ‘without’ runner. Where the nominated ‘without’ selection is withdrawn before the start of a race, all bets on any of the field in this market stand.

Where the nominated “Without” selection is withdrawn before the start of a race, all bets on any of the field in this market stand.

If 2 or fewer runners start the race, bets will be void.

Normal dead-heat rules apply.

Place Only Betting

Place Only 2 – Predict a horse to finish in one of the first two places. Place only bets are accepted on horse races of five or more runners.

Place Only 3 – Predict a horse to finish in one of the first three places. Place only bets are accepted on horse races of eight or more runners.

In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with the Rule 4 table below based on the price in the Place Only market of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal.

Place Only Rule 4 Deductions Table

10/3 to 4/1 10p in the £ 10p in the £ No Deduction
9/2 and above No Deduction

If 2 or more horses are withdrawn, the total deduction will not exceed 90p.

If the selected horse is withdrawn from a race after coming under starter’s orders, bets placed on that horse will have lost as the horse will be deemed to have been a participant in the race.

In the event of non-runners, the number of places paid will remain the same, unless the number of runners in the race is equal to or less than the number of places paid, in which case all bets will be void. This market is settled on the official place terms of the race. If an 8 horse race with each way terms of 3 places is reduced to a race of 7 or less runners, we will still pay 3 places on the Place Only market.

Normal dead-heat rules apply.

Match Betting

Predict a horse to finish one place ahead of another horse in a direct Head-To-Head during Race event.

A Match bet is based on one selection beating another according to the specific conditions advertised. Dead heat rules apply unless a tie price is made available (e.g. for a handicap match bet). One of the two selections in any match bet must complete the course for the bets to stand, otherwise bets are void.

Both selections must start for bets to stand, otherwise Match Bets are void.

Settlement of bets will be based on the official declared result.

If neither horse finishes a race with hurdles/fences, the number of hurdles/fences successfully completed in the race will determine the winner.

3. Greyhounds

General

Bets are settled on the official result called by the judge and any subsequent amendments will be ignored for settlement purposes.

Unless a show, early or ante post price is either offered or requested, all bets on greyhound racing will be settled at starting price returns. The starting price (SP) is the price available at the ‘off’ of a race. Where our SP or an industry SP is returned, this will take precedence over any other declared SP and will be used to settle bets where a no show, early or ante post price is requested. Where no SP is returned and no show, early or ante post price is requested, settlement will be based on the final show of betting transmitted by SIS. Where no betting shows are transmitted, greyhound bets will be void.

We cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions in respect of accuracy in publishing or issuing of prices or information, despite every effort being made to ensure total accuracy. We reserve the right to correct these errors.

Each Way

Bets are accepted on win or each way. Using the each way checkbox will double the unit stake placed on the winner selection. It will contain one bet on the Winner and another bet on the Place. Terms will be written in the header of the event eg. E/W 1/4 1-2

Number of Runners Not Handicap race
2 – 4 Win Only
5 – 7 1/4 odds for Places 1 to 2
8 1/5 odds for place 1 to 3

The each way terms shown above are determined by the number of runners at the start of a race, not by when the bet was placed. If you place an each way bet for a race that is win only, the total stake will be invested in a win. For the purpose of settlement, each way doubles, trebles etc. are settled as two distinct bets, i.e. win on ‘to win’ and place on ‘to place’.

Each way bets are not accepted on unnamed favourites.

Ante Post/Outright

Standard Ante Post/Outright rules apply.

Show/Early Prices

Show prices are the current prices on offer at the course during the period before a race. Early prices are special prices compiled by the traders and are usually offered up until 15 minutes before the off of a race. Prices are subject to fluctuation. If you want a bet at show/early price you must request it at the time of placing your bet.

In the case of a non-runner, any bets at show prices or early prices will be settled at the starting price.

Re-Runs

Where a race has been declared a no-race and is re-run, all bets will stand for the greyhounds that take part in the re-run. The prices returned on the re-run will govern the settlement. Show/Early prices will stand for a re-run unless there is a non-runner, in which case all bets will be settled at the SP. A re-run greyhound race is taken in the order in which it was originally placed in the programme, irrespective of the time at which it was re-run. Where a race has been declared a no-race and is not re-run, all bets for that race will be made void and will not count for any additional race.

Favourites

Bets on the Favourite are accepted win-only at the starting price. Early prices or board prices cannot be taken on unnamed favourites.

The favourite is the greyhound quoted at the shortest odds in the official starting prices.

Where you nominate the favourite and two or more runners start at the same odds and these odds are shorter than those quoted against any other, then these two are equal first favourites and equal second favourites.

If two or more co-favourites are selected, the stake will be divided equally between them and paid at full odds.

4. Basketball

General

All games must start on the scheduled date (local time) for bets to have action. An exception is made if incorrect start time is announced on our website. If odds were offered with an incorrect match time (more than 5 minutes), it will be our concern to void any bet.

If a game venue is changed, bets already placed will stand providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed match are reversed, then bets based on the original listing will be void.

Markets do not consider overtime unless otherwise stated on market description (Incl. OT or Only OT):

  • Pre-Match markets
  • Winner (Incl. OT)
  • Asian Handicap (Incl. OT)
  • Matchbet + Over/Under (Incl. OT)
  • Over/Under (Incl. OT)
  • Home Team – Over/Under (Incl. OT)
  • Away Team – Over/Under (Incl. OT)
  • Winning Margin (Incl. OT)

Basketball Settlement Rules

When a match is postponed, abandoned or interrupted for any reason and is not continued within 48h, all undecided bets will be void.

When odds were offered with an incorrect match time (more than 5 minutes), it will be our concern to void any bet.

BJ winning tips

What is Blackjack?

The objective of Blackjack is clear: Beat the dealer’s hand total, but don’t exceed 21. Blackjack guides are a good place to start when you’re learning to play Blackjack. Remember, you’re competing against the dealer and not against other players. Even if there are 5 players at your table, it doesn’t matter how well they are performing. Focus on your hand and the dealer’s hand – that’s all you need to do.

Blackjack is one of the world’s most popular casino card games. Blackjack can be played in multiple formats, including a Single Hand or Multihand version of the game. Unlike poker, Blackjack is played against the dealer (the house), not against other players. The goal of Blackjack is simply to beat the dealer’s hand total without exceeding 21.

Players are dealt 2 cards face up. These are known as pocket cards or hole cards. The dealer is also dealt 2 cards, although only one of them is visible. Based on the cards the player is holding and the dealer’s upcard, decisions must be made. Players can hit, stand, double down, split, surrender, or take insurance. We will introduce you to all these options later on in our Blackjack guide!

How Do You Play Blackjack?

Play begins when you place your bets (after selecting your chip size) at the table.  There are rules in place designed to steer you towards a better understanding of the game and ultimately to enhance your enjoyment of classic Blackjack. The dealer shuffles the cards after every hand and deals 2 cards face up to each player at the table. Only one of the dealer’s cards is visible, the other is face down.

Okay your cards right with BJ at Karamba!

Your actions will be determined by two things: The cards you’re holding and the dealer’s card. It doesn’t matter what cards other players at your table are holding.  These include Hit (take another card), Stand (do nothing), Double (take one more card and double your bets), Split (split two identical cards), or take insurance if the dealer’s upcard is an Ace. Contrary to popular opinion, the goal is not to hit 21 – it’s simply to beat the dealer’s hand total without going bust.

Once you’ve determined the actions you will take, allow your hand to play out and hope for the best. Karamba advocates responsible gaming practices with all Blackjack games. This rollicking casino card game ranks highly with players, and for good reason. Blackjack is suave and sophisticated, yet fun at the same time. It’s a great game to play if you’re looking for a challenge, and there are multiple Blackjack games available at Karamba online casino.

What Are the Rules of Blackjack?

Blackjack is built on a framework of rules designed to guide you through your gameplay. These rules will vary from one game to the next, including things like Blackjack payouts, will the dealer draw to 16 and stand on all 17s (hard and soft)? What are the minimum and maximum bets? How many hands can you play simultaneously? Here’s what you should know…

Blackjack Etiquette

Basic table rules such as Blackjack etiquette apply to all land-based casinos. Unless otherwise indicated, players are not to touch the cards with their hands. Players go head-to-head against the dealer in pursuit of the highest value hand. Once cards have been dealt – from left to right – the Blackjack dealer will receive the final card. After the deal, the action will rotate from one player to the next. When it is your turn to act, you have several options available. You can hit or stand. Once everyone has had a chance to act, the dealer will reveal his/her hand.

What you should know about Blackjack:

    • The dealer is bound by rules as well. He or she may have to draw until 16 and be required to stand on all 17s. If the player’s hand and the dealer’s hand are equal in value, a push ensues. At this point, players will simply be refunded their bet.

    • If at any time you or the dealer exceeds 21, it’s game over. The strongest hand always scores in Blackjack.

    • Blackjack tables have set limits. There is a minimum bet and a maximum bet per game. Whether you’re a casual player, or a high roller, it’s important to pick a Blackjack table that caters to your bankroll requirements.

Blackjack Insurance

If the dealer’s upcard is an Ace, the player can opt for an insurance bet. This is to protect the player against the dealer having Blackjack (Ace + 10 value card). The insurance bet is placed over and above the initial bet.

Your decision to hit or stand is an important one in Blackjack. Remember any hand total of 11 could theoretically be a maximum of 21 if you draw a face card, or 10. As you get closer to 21, the likelihood of drawing a high-value card depends on how many of those cards remain in the deck.

Splitting Cards

Blackjack games also allow players to spit the cards. When you split a pair, you are effectively playing two hands. Sometimes you can re-split cards, others not. Many players choose not to split a pair that is worth 20, but all of them will split a pair of Aces since there is always a possibility of hitting Blackjack. When you double down, you will double your bet and take one final card. Blackjack games are also associated with many optional bets known as side bets. These bets may not always be available, and they vary from one table to the next.

What Are the Cards Worth in Blackjack?

Blackjack card values are easy to understand. The only card that causes a little confusion is the Ace since it can assume a value of 1 or 11. Cards 2 – 10 sport their nominal value (face value), while Jack, Queen, and King have a 10-value. The game is typically played with between 1 and 8 decks. These contain 52 cards per deck. A soft hand includes an Ace counted as 11, while a hard hand has an Ace counted as 1. A soft hand gets its name because the Ace can be 1 or 11, and a hard hand indicates that the Ace value is limited to just 1.

How Do You Deal Blackjack at Home?

Blackjack is a popular casino card game for friends and family at home. Home games are easy to set up. The first order of business is to shuffle the cards. Next, have one of the players at the table cut the cards in the deck. After the cards are placed in a shoe (card holder), the burn card (first card of the shoe) should be removed. Players should all be seated in a semicircle around the dealer, before bets are placed at the table.

The deal begins from the left of the dealer to the right of the dealer. 1 card is dealt to each player in turn face up, followed by one downcard to the dealer. On the second deal, another card is dealt face up to each player, followed by the dealer’s upcard.

Each of the players upcards must be visible to all other players at the table and the dealer. If an Ace is showing, the dealer must ask players if they wish to take insurance. Play starts with the player to the left of the dealer and continues around the table. Players have the option to hit, stand, double, split, or simply surrender their hands. Once all players have acted, the dealer will reveal the cards. If the dealer loses, the players will be paid out and the cards will be shuffled for a new game of Blackjack!

Roulette is a fascinating game of chance. It features a spinning wheel, a ball, inside and outside bets, and a croupier. Online Casino Karamba delves into the inner mechanics of this game with an interesting discussion of roulette wheel mechanics, the roulette table layout, and the rules of roulette. This guide serves as a value-added service for fans of the game!

Karamba players are privy to many fascinating insights into the roulette wheel. There are multiple roulette game types available to players, notably classic Roulette, European Roulette, French Roulette, and American Roulette. Each roulette variant is crafted according to the specifications of the game in question. Wheels are designed in such a way that randomness is assured on every spin.

Every roulette wheel is comprised of similar components, including a wheelbase, pockets where the roulette ball can land, a rotor, a ball track where the croupier spins the ball, and diamonds on the wheel. Each of these components serves a specific purpose. Players with an understanding of roulette mechanics will inherently appreciate the game more.

We will explore each element of the roulette wheel in a structured fashion. The objective is to provide a basic understanding of roulette mechanics so that players can appreciate how elegant and seamless this game really is.

The Roulette Base

The outer element of the roulette wheel is known as the base. It is typically comprised of wood, and features a metal interior component. These robust bases are strong enough to withstand dings and dents, without damaging the interior mechanics of the roulette wheel. The most sensitive part of a roulette wheel is the ball track. A slight scratch, imperfection, or attachment can alter the randomness of outcomes.

The Roulette Shaft

The shaft of a roulette wheel is the part that supports the rotor. It is otherwise known as a spindle. Proper care and attention are needed to maintain the roulette shaft in impeccable working order. Bent spindles can result in biased roulette wheels, causing the roulette rotor to spin at an angle. There are several different roulette variants, notably European Roulette, French Roulette, and American Roulette. The European and French Roulette variants feature a similar wheel, since there are numbers 0 – 36. The American Roulette wheel features 0 and 00 as well as numbers 1 – 36.

Roulette Pockets

All the slots on a roulette wheel are known as pockets. The ball always comes to rest in one of these pockets. From a designer’s perspective, the roulette pockets are frequently changed to reflect the preferences of the casinos in question. In the old days, roulette pockets were deep. This ensured that the roulette ball didn’t bounce around too much and came to rest quickly. Unfortunately, this design resulted in less randomness and too much predictability at casinos.

The depth of the roulette pockets is but one element to consider when determining the randomness of outcomes on a roulette wheel. Sometimes, other issues come into play such as the pocket separators. If these become loose, they can also absorb the ‘energy’ of the roulette ball and cause it to come to rest much more quickly. The ‘predictability’ of roulette spins can be offset to a degree by changing the design of the pockets.

Over the years, many intuitive designs have been crafted including the Huxley Starburst design. Roulette tables with this design feature triangular pockets which cause ball deflection in one way or another. This eliminates the predictable element related to roulette gaming by generating a scatter movement of the ball. Some roulette aficionados believe that the triangular pockets may enhance predictability.

Other design elements include scalloped pockets which are similar to low fret pockets. Nowadays, many casino operators utilise the low fret design in their roulette games. The randomness of a roulette spin is dependent on a host of factors. These include the deepness of pockets, the type of pocket separators there are used, and the dominant diamonds on the roulette wheel. We will address the diamonds in the next section.

What Are Roulette Diamonds?

Every roulette wheel has diamonds that protrude on the face of the wheel. These diamonds are designed to change the trajectory of the ball by placing an obstacle in the ball’s path. The dominant diamonds are the ones that have the most wear and tear on them. Nowadays, casinos routinely switch out their roulette wheels if they notice any imperfections on them since this can create biased outcomes.

Dominant diamonds have typically been associated with predictability, yet this problem has largely been eliminated from bricks and mortar casinos. At online casinos like Karamba, players needn’t concern themselves with roulette diamonds since the outcomes are governed by random number generators (RNGs) and not physical imperfections on the wheel. Various other names have been given to roulette diamonds, notably deflectors, pins, stops, or slats.

The Roulette Rotor

roulette games at karamba

The rotor is an important component of the roulette wheel. It includes the inner mechanism that moves along with the pockets in a roulette wheel. The weight of the roulette rotor is approximately 66 lbs. These components can be switched out for other roulette wheels that are similarly constructed. With the right parts, a precision-made roulette rotor can all but eliminate wheel bias in the game. Of all the parts of a roulette wheel, it is the roulette rotor that garners the most attention by the casino since it is a moving part that is subject to wear and tear, imbalances, and imperfections over time.

The Roulette Ball Track

The ball track refers to the path the ball travels on the roulette wheel. Land-based casinos use roulette wheels with wooden ball tracks. Most of the time, the roulette ball track is coated with an epoxy resin to strengthen it and make it impervious to scratches and imperfections. Ultimately though, the roulette ball track is subject to wear and tear.

Well maintained roulette wheels are routinely switched out by casinos to avoid any predictability as a result of imperfections. One of the most durable surfaces for roulette ball tracks is the Velstone ball track. It is durable and capable of withstanding significant wear and tear as a result of the roulette ball, and the roulette dealer’s actions.

Introducing the Roulette Table Layout

Roulette players with an affinity for a specific game quickly become accustomed to the table layout. The American Roulette wheel differs from the European Roulette wheel which differs from the French Roulette wheel. It is important to understand the differences between roulette variants and their table layouts. Red and black colour configurations are an intentional inclusion on the roulette wheel. With American Roulette wheels, there are 38 pockets. These include the green 0 and the green 00, as well as numbers 1 through 36. The numbers on the wheel are designated as follows: 0-28-9-26-30-11-7-20-32-17-5-22-34-15-3-24-36-13-1-00-27-10-25-29-12-8-19-31-18-6-21-33-16-4-23-35-14-2.

The European Roulette layout differs considerably from the American Roulette layout. For starters, there are just 37 pockets on a European Roulette wheel. This includes the green 0 and numbers 1 through 36. This means that there are 37 pockets on the European Roulette wheel as opposed to 38 pockets on the American Roulette wheel. The payout percentages on European Roulette are the same as they are for American Roulette, with the only difference being that there is an additional number on the American Roulette wheel. On European Roulette wheels, the numbers are designated as follows: 0-32-15-19-4-21-2-25-17-34-6-27-13-36-11-30-8-23-10-5-24-16-33-1-20-14-31-9-22-18-29-7-28-12-35-3-26. Players will notice that the order of the numbers differs from the order of the numbers on the American Roulette wheel.

What Types of Bet Options Are Available on the Roulette Wheel?

play with roulette-strategy

The roulette wheel is made up of different sectors. These are written out in French, since the game has a history that dates back several centuries in France. These sectors are reflective of groups of numbers, and combinations of bits. They include the following:

Jeu 0 – this sector includes the following numbers on a roulette wheel: 12-35-3-26-0-32 and 15.
Voisins du Zero – this includes the following set of numbers: 22-18-29-7-28-12-35-3-26-0-32-15-19-4-21-2-25.

Orphelins – this rather limited set of numbers includes 1-20-14-31-9. There are also other Orphelins including 17-34-6.

Tiers du Cylindre – these numbers include the following selections: 27-13-36-11-30-8-23-10-5-24-16-33.

Another interesting selection of beds available to players is known as Neighbour Bets. With Neighbour Bets, players can place a wager 5 consecutive numbers. Broadly speaking, roulette tables feature a combination of inside bets and outside bets. The inside bets include any numbers on the roulette wheel. On American roulette tables, this includes 0, 00 and Numbers 1 – 36. On European roulette wheels and French roulette wheels, this includes 0, and numbers 1 – 36. Outside bets are placed on combinations of numbers and other bet selections. They typically include the first 12, second 12, third 12, 2 to 1, red or black, 1 – 18, 19 – 36, and odds/evens. The payouts on each of these bet selections will differ based on the particular roulette variant that is being played.

Roulette Bet Placements

  • • Straight Bets on individual numbers
  • • Split Bets on 2 numbers
  • • Street Bets on 3 numbers
  • • Square Bets on 4 numbers
  • • Six Line Bets on 6 numbers
  • • Red or Black Bets on 18 numbers
  • • Dozen Bets on 12 numbers
  • • High or Low Bets on combinations of numbers such as 1-18 and 19-36
  • • Odds and Evens
  • • 12 Number Bets known as Column Bets

Players are tasked with placing their bets at the roulette table at land-based casinos. This can prove to be a challenging task when the casino is busy, in which case the dealer will placed the chips for the player. Nowadays, real roulette tables are associated with computer terminals with seats around the tables. Players have the option of placing their bets via the TV screen/computer terminal and waiting for the results of the roulette wheel spin. Dozens of players are supported by this type of functionality.

Players may find the sequencing of roulette wheels to be somewhat confusing; this is intentionally designed to be that way. There is no arithmetic value associated with the sequence of numbers. Besides for being somewhat bewildering, the sequence makes it difficult for players to find any correlation between numbers, sectors, or sections of the wheel. There is complete equality in terms of alternation between red and black numbers. All roulette wheels must have this alternating sequence to ensure that outside bets are associated with the right probability of outcomes. Players will notice that high numbers are flanked by low numbers and vice versa. This is done to prevent a concentration of high numbers, or low numbers in any specific sector of the wheel. In much the same fashion, odds and evens are evenly distributed to prevent any agglomeration of odds, or evens which would otherwise give the player an advantage over the house.

While French roulette is touted as an entirely different game, it bears many similarities to European roulette. In fact, the European roulette wheel and the French roulette wheel are identical. The only differences coming with the lettering on the French roulette wheel which includes a betting deck with the following words: Passe (19 – 36), Pair (even), Manque (1 – 18), Impair (odd), and specific designations for 1-12, 13-24, and 25-36. A good understanding of the table layout will serve players well when selecting their preferred roulette game. Many of the aforementioned elements are available in all versions of roulette, including online and land-based roulette games.

Players will do well to practice roulette online to gain a better understanding of each of these terms, definitions, and rules and play Roulette for entertainment.  Karamba.com offers players a varied selection of roulette games, including: Roulette Lounge, Roulette Pro, Roulette Royal, European Roulette, and standard Roulette.

What are Scratchcards?

Scratch cards are instant games. They typically present as a square-shaped card with a grid-like format of hidden symbols. Many scratch card games feature a 3 x 3 grid; however, it is possible to find multiple grid formations on these games. The objective of scratch games is simple: Match the required number of symbols, as indicated on the face of the scratch card ticket for the associated reward. Usually, players are required to match 3 symbols to activate payouts. There is no specialised technique for playing these games successfully, save effective bankroll management. Players are encouraged to adopt responsible gaming practices with all online casino games.

Karamba S cratch card winning games

Each scratch card game features several elements, including: a minimum bet, a maximum bet, playlines, RTP (Return to Player), a unique theme, symbols, and the paytable. Karamba scratch games are available on PC, Mac, Android, or iOS devices. All outcomes of scratch card games are determined by RNGs (Random Number Generators). These software programs are governed by algorithms that randomise the outcomes of every game. Traditional scratchcards are made of paper, or cardboard, and they are coated with a plastic-like substance which conceals the symbols beneath. This opaque covering must be removed before any payouts can be determined. Much the same is true with an online scratchcard game – except that these are scratched virtually.

What’s Entertaining about Scratch Cards?

“Scratch cards are easy to play, and everyone stands just as much chance as anyone else. No specific gameplay, or style is needed.”

All it takes is a ticket, and good fortune to come your way. With scratchcard games such as Power Cash, players don’t need to learn complicated betting rules, bet types, or probability analysis to enjoy these games. There are no charts or gambling guides required either. Scratchcards are designed for the purpose of instant fun. They can be played in between games of blackjack online, baccarat, roulette games, or slots. They are ideal as stand-alone casino games, or as the perfect in-betweener.

For players these scratch online games are entertaining and fulfilling on many levels. At the click of a button, players can find themselves playing a Black Tournament scratch game at Karamba, with a 5 x 4 grid of Gold Star entertainment. Players may wish to manually click on each square to reveal the symbol beneath, or instantly reveal everything with the auto reveal option.

Online and Mobile Scratch Cards

Scratchcard enthusiasts can enjoy online scratch card games and mobile scratch card games. Online scratchcard games are available direct off a browser. These games require Flash Player, and they mimic the actions of a physical scratch ticket. Karamba also offers players mobile scratch card games. These games run on Android or iOS devices, with all the best features of PC-based games. Though mobile games have limited screen sizes, the games have been crafted to allow maximum functionality given the screen real estate that’s available. Both versions of online scratch card games are virtually indistinguishable from the actual tickets that players hold in their hands.

Scratchcard fans with a preference for casino games will love Roulette Scratch, Royal Dice, Lucky 21, Poker King, and Royal Slots. Casino Riches is a 3 in 1 game where players can form combinations on the slots reels, the craps dice, and the roulette table all on the same screen. Provided at least 3 symbols match, Casino Riches pays out.

Follow these Scratch Card Rules of Thumb

Every scratch card player should understand the rules of play when it comes to scratchcard games.

Have Fun:  Scratching is first and foremost about having fun! Outcomes of these games have nothing to do with the size of your wagers, or the number of tickets you buy. Ultimately, it’s about how much fun you have and what you’re comfortable wagering.

Set a Scratch Card Budget: Everyone is limited by their budget in scratch card games. It doesn’t matter how wealthy you are, you still have a budget to work with. Lottery tickets and scratch card tickets are highly alluring. The glitz and glam of landing combinations of symbols can be overpowering and can entice you to spend more than you ought to. A great workaround is to go into the store with a set amount of cash in hand. Don’t take any more than you need to purchase your tickets. Same goes when playing scratchcard games online – budget is basic!
